Christmas!
We got an artificial tree for the first time, it is a little strange.. there are no tree farms around and we could not find a place where they sell trees so we went to K-mart and bought a fake one.. and lots of lights.. The boys had fun decorating the tree.. here some pictures. and some other pictures taken later in Christmas when we unwrapped our presents on Christmas day and on Boxing day when we made our traditional gingerbread house (which did not work as well as previous years..but it still tasted good!). Also we went to the beach a few times - the boys love their new boogie boards!

Hi Nynke! Ah yes, the fake tree. My mother bit the bullet and did this last year...but she has no excuse because there are plenty of tree farms. We went to the huge Sinterklaas parade last week in Rhinebeck, NY. Actually, we all marched in it -- Sophia and I with her 4H sponsor alpaca ("twist") and Ben and Nico as part of a group holding up a huge snake puppet. Happy Sinterklaas/Christmas and whatever else. :)
