Our new House!

We have been here (Brisbane) for about a month now and finally have good internet so time for a new blog. To start of one of an impression of our new house. It is not as impressive as our previous one and the views are not as good but we do like it here! Brisbane is a very nice city with lots of green spaces and people are really friendly -we made friends already and we continue to meet new and interesting people. It has also been really fun to explore a new place -so much still to see! We live close to Mount Coot-Tha Forest at one side and close to D'Aguilar National Park on the other side, both have lots of hiking trails and we haven't been on many of them yet. And Brisbane CBD is only an easy 20 min. drive away. And then there are the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast with beaches and National Parks, we haven't even started to explore those yet (not counting a short hike in Springbrook NP in the Gold Coast hinterland when we were here in February). Another nice thing about Brisbane is that it has lots of great farmer's markets -and a warmer climate (especially nice in the winter.. not sure about summer yet! but we have a pool! and AC so should be ok).

A little walk in Brisbane

We went for a nice walk along the river in Brisbane -not too many pictures unfortunately. We got the idea from one of our Brisbane hiking guides -we got two and they will keep us busy for a long time! -many new places to explore around here!

Sunrise at Ettalong Mountain

Something we had wanted to do for a long time but just not got around to it until we decided to move, of course, then it became urgent. We got up early, before sunrise and drove 10 min to Ettalong mountain from where we walked maybe about 10 min to get to this beautiful view point and saw the sun rise. A beautiful goodbye to the Central Coast!
